Maternity and neonatal services – listening to women and families

NHS England’s maternity and neonatal letter to ICBs and provider trusts includes a request for boards to review the commissioning and implementation of existing commitments for:

  • perinatal pelvic health services
  • maternal mental health services
  • availability of bereavement services
  • local maternity and neonatal system equity and equality action plans

The letter asks ICBs to review the implementation of the requirement to offer women a maternal postnatal consultation with a GP. The appendix sets out ICB allocations for maternity and neonatal voice partnerships.
