The need to provide the Network with sufficient numbers of appropriately trained and motivated staff has resulted in the investment of a Nurse Educator post within the Network. The Nurse Educator will be the lead for education and training of staff in the neonatal units within the neonatal Network (BAPM 2001, DH 2003). Working together with education leads within the units, existing clinical and academic staff, the aim of the post is to develop and coordinate an evidence-based comprehensive education service for staff caring for neonates within the Network, ensuring this relates to the needs of the patients and is in line with the National Service Framework (NSF), NICE guidance and the 10 Key Roles for Nurses and Midwives. Education of all the staff involved in delivering neonatal care within the Network is essential to enabling the Network to meet its objective of developing a sustainable service to ensure that mothers and babies are treated in the right place, at the right time and by appropriately skilled staff. Details of education/training programmes and resources within the Network will be added to this page as they become available. To book onto a Network study day/event please register via the LinX System at https://linx.worxinfo.com see LinX System Instructions below for a step by step guide.
