Please join us for the last meeting of the year. Melanie Whitfield from NHS Improvement will be joining us for discussion in STP groups, and we will be introducing a new HR Business Partner maturity model (not only for HR BPs!). In the afternoon we will be looking at working with teams in conflict.

  • We’re delighted that Melanie Whitfield, Head of People Strategy at NHS Improvement has agreed to come along and discuss some of the current and future workforce priorities, what work is taking place to address these, where is the good practice as well as the gaps in London, and what response she’d like to see from the workforce profession.

This will be a very interactive session, working in STP groups so there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and to learn from colleagues.

  • We will also have a focus on developing the HR Business Partner role and in particular introducing an HR BP maturity model.

This session will also be useful for heads of service and other senior workforce professionals as many of the skills are the same.

The purpose of this session will be to introduce the HPMA London Academy Business Partner model maturity assessment tool. The Academy has been working with colleagues from member organisations on the development of a Business Partner resource pack and have developed a new tool with the aim of enabling workforce teams and directorates to assess the effectiveness and maturity of their business partner roles and structure. This will be the first time the tool has been trailed and this session will enable network members to provide feedback on the tool and actively participate in its co-design.

  • Workforce professionals supporting conflict resolution in teams - with Michael Jacobs from CMP Resolutions

The afternnoon development session will offer some take away tools and techniques that you (HR professionals) can use when working with teams in conflict, and when working with people managing teams where there is conflict.

We will look at how you can work with particular issues e.g. teams where there is entrenched conflict and when teams are already divided; how you can have conversations with senior managers who ‘blind’ to and avoid conflict.
