Session 1: Measures to get more and safer cycling – the good, the bad and the ugly

Short guided rides to see various elements of Bristol's cycling culture (including those built as part of the Cycling City programme). Sharing discussion and observations from other towns. Alternative walking route allowing more time for talk. One ride will pass Temple Meads station at 10.30 for late-comers.


Session 2: Themed discussions on campaigning for more and safer cycling

Using examples from the rides and delegate's home towns share best practice and lessons learned. This will follow a 'World Cafe' format and include topics such as Using the media, Street interventions, Successful campaigning, and Building political will.


Session 3: Briefings

Launch of Cyclescape, the web based tool for campaigning groups. Cyclenation Campaigns. CTC Infrastructure Consultation.


Keynote Speakers:

Gordon Seabright, Chief Executive of the CTC: "The National Cycling Action Plan".
Professor Gabriel Scally, Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Healthy Urban Environments, UWE Bristol: "Public Health and Cycling". [to be confirmed]
