Do you agree with the new BTS home oxygen guidance that the 1st sampling for LTOT assessment should be a true arterial stab?

1. Yes: the inconvenience for the patient is outweighed by the fact that this will reduce prescribing home oxygen to a group of people who don’t meet the LTOT guidelines

Loughborough College still have places available on their distance-learning Pulmonary Rehabilitation course. Sign up by the end of September 2011.

Loughborough College are offering a distance learning course:  Pulmonary Rehabilitation Assistants Course in Exercise Training for Chronic Respiratory Disease

This is for healthcare workers at assistant practitioner level (e.g. physiotherapy and occupational therapy assistants) to provide them with the knowledge and skills required to assist with the exercise component of pulmonary rehabilitation.

 The course starts this month, and people can sign up any time before the end of September 2011.
