Invitation to join the Respiratory Leaders in Physiotherapy Group

Do you agree with the new BTS home oxygen guidance that the 1st sampling for LTOT assessment should be a true arterial stab?

1. Yes: the inconvenience for the patient is outweighed by the fact that this will reduce prescribing home oxygen to a group of people who don’t meet the LTOT guidelines

2. No: The CBG technique is much more patient friendly and the results obtained by capillary sampling are close enough not to make a material difference in a real life setting.

Invitation to join the Respiratory Leaders in Physiotherapy Group

This national group has been developed to bring leaders of respiratory services together to collaborate, network, support and share ideas. This is not a clinical interest group (that’s the ACPRC); this is for leaders of services to discuss operational issues and service needs. The group is represented by B7 leaders and above (but B6s welcome if they are leading services).

Please click here to read the ToR.

The first meeting in June discussed 7 day working and maintenance of respiratory competencies.

The second meeting will be in November and is around commissioning of respiratory services.

If you would like to join please email Rachael Moses on details below.
