The US Department of Veteran Affairs introduces Annie!

The technology, methodologies and use of Simple Telehealth across the UK support the US Department of Veteran Affairs launch of "Annie"

The article below describes the US Department of Veteran Affairs
partnership with the NHS to develop "Annie" as part of a three-year exchange program and collaboration focused on eHealth, launched in early 2013.
Annie is a mobile messaging system developed by the Department of Veteran Affairs inspired by the technology, methodologies and use of Simple Telehealth across the UK and facilitated by the commonalities between both health systems.
Pilot testing for Annie will begin this Autumn, initially focussing on text messaging interchanges designed to support US Veterans with congestive heart failure, diabetes, hypertension and weight loss concerns; appointment reminders will also be part of the initial deployment.
Following Annie's pilot evaluations, use of the system will be expanded to address other areas of care; and the exchange of learning will continue to be shared between the VA and NHS for the benefit of both Annie and Florence.
