Contributors to the Advice & Interactive Messaging (AIM) for Health Flo telehealth rollout

Professor Ruth Chambers OBE DM FRCGP

Ruth is Clinical Director for practice development and performance in Stoke- on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Group. She has been a GP for more than 30 years. She is Honorary Professor of Primary Care at Staffordshire University. Her previous interests have focused on self care, effective ways of working, stress in health professionals, and many other health related themes in various healthcare settings.  Ruth’s interest in telehealth led to her co-leading a successful bid to the Health Foundation to fund a pilot telehealth project to improve blood pressure control in general practice (2011-2); which is now being extended along a vast range of clinical pathways across primary, community and secondary care settings.  ruth.chambers@stoke.nhs.uk

Chris Chambers MCSP

Chris has helped with the evaluation of telehealth in Stoke-on-Trent, and then went on to develop many of the technical protocols which have made Flo relevant to local clinicians. He has worked with local GP practices and acute and mental health trusts to put Flo into practice. From a background as a physiotherapist in a local health centre for many years, Chris has broadened his interests by taking on different roles, including setting up the Knowledge and Skills Framework across the whole of Stoke-on-Trent PCT, working with unemployed people to help them back into work by addressing their physical and mental health needs through the Condition Management Programme, and also working with a charity for the homeless.

Tracey Cox

Tracey has over 10 years experience of working within Stoke-on-Trent Primary Care Trust (PCT) and now Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) under the quality improvement agenda specifically for general practice. She has joint-lead on a local quality improvement scheme that has been widely recognised nationally as good practice and is passionate about her role in helping to minimise unwarranted clinical variation in general practice. Tracey is excited to have joined the AIM for Health project team initially supporting the evaluation of AIM but now providing project management.
