"Implementing Effective Digital Health - Florence" Conference 6th November 2014

The "Implementing Effective Digital Health - Florence" Conference was held on 6th November 2014 at the Britannia Stadium, Stoke-on-Trent.

To celebrate the success of NHS England's National Advice and Interactive Messaging (AIM) Project and to consolidate the significant progress so far from around the United Kingdom in innovating with Flo, the "Implementing Effective Digital Health" Conference was held on 6th November 2014 which proved to be a highly successful day with over 150 people attending from across the country.

The day was opened by Shirley Silvers, a patient with COPD who spoke passionately about how using Flo to support the management of her COPD had impacted greatly not only on her health but her lifestyle, understanding and confidence in managing the disease so much so that Shirley hasn't used Flo for over 2 years due to the sustained improvement in the self-management that Shirley is now confident to undertake from using Flo previously. Dr Martin McShane, Director for Improving the Quality of Life for People with Long Term Conditions and Cathy Hassell NHS England's Programme Lead for Technology Enabled Care were Key Note Speakers followed by presentations from teams from across the country sharing their successes and best practice to date.

Feedback during and after the event has been overwhelmingly positive with those who attended the event expressing their pleasure in listening to the approaches and ideas of others and the opportunity to take these discussions further. Subsequently many connections have been made with teams looking to further support their patients by innovating with Flo.
