HIV interest group

Contact: Dr Bala, t.bala@ldh.nhs.uk

The HIV Interest Group is a sub-network of the main Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Sexual Health network.

The aims of the group are:-

  • To provide a forum for education, discussion and support on all issues related to HIV care and treatment in order to ensure high standards of care across providers and to enable equitable access to services across provider and   geographical boundaries
  • To arrange update meetings
  • To act as a resource for those commissioning and providing HIV services

Membership

The membership comprises of Specialist Doctors, Nurses, Health Advisors, HIV pharmacists and Health Care professionals involved in HIV care across Beds and Herts.

Becoming a member of the interest group would allow you to make contact with a range of professionals, providing HIV care.

Discussion Forum

It is envisaged that members of the HIV interest group might benefit from an opportunity to discuss difficult clinical issues with other senior colleagues. With this aim in mind, the HIV discussion forum has been established. It is separate from the main network forum and is only available to members of the HIV interest group and closed to everyone else. It is anticipated that the forum will provide an opportunity for learning and allow us to easily disseminate information to ensure high standards of HIV care across Beds and Herts providers.

Resources

The Interest group will follow the BHIVA national guidelines.  However if you have any other guidelines or documents which you feel would be useful to network members you could forward to me and we can arrange for them to be added.
