Initial correction rate

Hi,
I'm a 4th year student at Strathclyde University and I am looking to find out what percentage initial correction rates (pre-brace to first brace review) are aimed for when bracing for idiopathic scoliosis? In particular when using the Boston brace.
Thanks,
Aimie

Hi Aimie,
Sorry that you haven't had a reply here. I think 50% is often cited as a goal for correction. A quick search brought up this reference from the 90s, which found 62% average initial correction:

Obviously we ultimately aim for as much correction as possible!
