Ahead of the national 10HIA programme launching in Summer, we've started some initial discussions with practices to learn about how they run certain processes and whether there are better ways of working to adopt. We're trying to glean further information from across our practices but I thought it would be helpful to check nationally as well.

Below are 3 questions I've been asked - does anyone have any particular insight into these please?

  • Is there a sensible / usual / appropriate day split or evidence for how a GP's day is split up in terms of appointments, admin etc and how long each block of time should be?
  • What are the key learnings / points to note for a practice looking to start Sit & Wait clinics (ranging from number / type of clinicians, views on triage, how may "appointment" to make available etc)
  • 1 practice experienced issues upgrading from the basic Docman workflow functionality to iWorkflow in 2012 - there were various upgrade and functionality issues so they reverted. Do any other practices have recent positive experiences  or indeed challenges and difficulties in doing such an upgrade and what are the relative merits of doing so?
