Can members update us on progress towards development of their Local Dental Network (or Dental LPN) please?
Have you an established membership? If so, what is it? Have you a clinical chairperson?
Do the LDCs have seats by right?
Are LDC members 9or others) paid a loss of earnings/pracice expenses payment for meetings in working hours?

I am interim chair of an LPN
We have several policies and procedures in draft form as a basis for discussion when have a suitable geographically appropriate member base.
Still trying to build membership, which is slow with minimal funds.
LDC's do not have seats by right as membership is not supposed to reflect organisiations but members selected for own individual skills and knowledge (see securing excellence doc).
LDC's need to keep separate line of influence and look after dentists interests.
Limited funds mean that a degree of altruism is needed!
LDC officers are not appointed to LPN, however if they are at somepoint in future then their levy collected form dental practices is expected to be used to support officers working in this capacity. non LDC dentists may find that there are some funds available after patients have been paid for participation.
