NHS Heros Launched

Up to Public Health Practitioner Compentency: what does it mean?
July 12. 2012

NHS Heroes was launched on July 5 2012 as part of the NHS’s 64th birthday celebrations. It is a new national scheme to recognise the great work that individuals and teams do every day in the NHS, and give everyone in England the chance to acknowledge NHS staff. NHS Heroes is intended to compliment rather than replace local awards schemes.

Anyone in the NHS family can be nominated as an NHS Hero for anything that demonstrates real commitment and compassion in NHS care or support work. Nominations are invited from clinical and non-clinical staff within the NHS, and from all those working on behalf of the NHS in voluntary, independent and charity sectors. Anyone – patients, NHS staff and members of the public – can nominate their NHS Hero.

Nominations can be made on the NHS Heroes website. The deadline for submitting nominations is noon Friday 21 September 2012. Please direct any queries about NHS Heroes to info@nhsheroes.com
