CLINICAL LEAD - NORTHERN BURN CARE OPERATIONAL DELIVERY NETWORK (1 PA per week) 1 YEAR APPOINTMENT EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST INVITED – CLOSING DATE: 06.09.13 Exciting opportunities have arisen for clinicians to shape the future of services for patients. To ensure a truly clinically led NHS, Operational Delivery Networks (ODNs) were created on 1 April 2013. This has required existing clinical networks for burns, critical care and trauma to operate as ODNs. We are now seeking to appoint clinical leads to join the Northern Burn Care ODN (adults and children) and South Yorkshire Trauma (adults and children) Central Support Team. In the first instance the appointment will be for one year on a remunerated part time basis and thereafter reviewed. Administrative support will be provided. The postholder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and advice and presenting recommendations to the ODNs’ Manager and team, Provider Trusts and commissioners across the ODN. The Clinical Lead will need to support and nurture mature clinical relationships and actively endorse a whole systems approach across all ODN member organisations. You will be responsible for advising on the development of clear, beneficial outcomes and quality standards and evidence based whole system patient pathways across the ODN area, in potentially contentious and challenging environments where barriers to recommendations may exist. The Clinical Lead will work in liaison with the ODNs’ Manager and team, NHSE Programme of Care Leads, NHSE Specialised Commissioners/CCG leads, provider clinical leads and will be required to attend occasional meetings in London with the ODNs’ Manager to represent the ODN (for which travel expenses are payable). A full job description and person specification is attached. HOW TO EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST: Expressions of interest are invited to Jayne.andrew@sth.nhs.uk via submission of a short letter of application and CV by the date in the title header stating: • Your vision for the Clinical Lead role – what do you see as the priorities and challenges for 2013/14 • How you would intend to discharge the function of Clinical Lead – how you would see yourself working in this role/ability to be available for key meetings etc. • How you think you meet the Job Specification? • What needs would you have if appointed? • Confirmation that your organisation would support you doing this role within your existing job plan. If you require any other information, clarification or an informal discussion, please contact Jayne Andrew, ODNs’ Manager – 0114 271 1585423 July 2013
