About us

Our main aim is to ensure equity of care and access to care. We do this by speeding up care delivery, sharing and developing best practice, making our services more efficient, and improving the quality of information available. All NHS services have these goals in mind but we use a regional network to co-ordinate these efforts because cancer care is so complex and involves such a large range of professionals.

We improve cancer care by:

• co-ordinating and integrating all improvement effort in the North of Scotland;

• promoting collaboration across Scotland; communicating these efforts and their outcomes to all members.

Our authority comes from the North of Scotland Planning Group i.e from NHS Boards through the Board Chief Executives. In exchange, we are responsible for the regional planning of cancer services.
