Improving care through health informatics - issue three

This document demonstrates how the strategic health authority (SHA) and local health communities (LHCs) across the north east are delivering technical innovation to support healthcare services and improve the patient experience. Improving care through health informatics, issue three includes profiles from County Durham and Darlington, North of Tyne, South of Tyne and Wear and Tees local health communities. Each profile illustrates some of the benefits that integrated information technology (IT) solutions are having on frontline services. The document highlights how organisations across the region are working to put the patient at the heart of all they do. NHS North East is committed to being the region of ‘excellence’ for health informatics engagement, innovation and delivery. Improving care through health informatics, issue three takes a look at just some of the innovative IT solutions that have been introduced. This document offers us the opportunity to reflect on our progress and celebrate how patients, services and staff are already benefiting from innovative health informatics.
