As part of a mobile strategy providers should consider how mobile apps can be used more broadly by clinicians and in conjunction with patients. This literature review (PDF, 2.1MB) published in March 2016.

The review commissioned as part of the National Information Board workstream which aims to give people access to endorsed NHS and social care apps with the specific commitment:

'Citizens will have access to a set of health and care digital apps that will have been endorsed by the NHS in order to help people to manage their health better and deal more effectively with illness and disability.'

This baseline report informed the approach and roadmap to endorsing apps for use in the NHS and social care.
