30th Meeting of the NNCPS

The National Network of Clinical Procurement Specialists met on 29th September 2010. The agenda included very current issues such as Topical Negative Pressure wound dressings, safer spinal NPSA alert and the workplan for the coming two years. It was the first meeting for two of the recently elected executive members, and has given a good platform for the coming 2 years work.

Liam Horkan and The East of England Collaborative Procurement Hub kindly hosted the 30th meeting of the NNCPS on the 29th September 2010. Approximately 20 of the 73 members attended the meeting and a lively, informative and enjoyable meeting was had.

Around 10 members met the night before the meeting and as usual found the pre-meeting networking in the local Indian restaurant a very informative and valuable addition to the full meeting the following day.

Malcolm Bowen of Bristol and Weston NHS Purchasing Consortium presented his progress and valuable market information regarding the safer sharp NPSA alert (NPSA alert NPSA/2009/PSA004 Part A & Part B) due for implementation in April 2011.

Liam Horkan kindly shared a presentation on his work in the area of Topical Negative Pressure wound therapy. This was eye opening to say the least and all present enjoyed the vision towards the future market in this area.
