Dear Colleague

You are invited to attend the 2nd National Mental Health Informatics Network  Congress,  an event hosted jointly by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Department of Health Informatics Directorate, NHS Information Centre (NHS IC)  and British Computer Society (BCS) in London on the 9th of November.  “Mental Health Informatics, Building on Success Learning from Failure” follows up the work done at the 2009 meeting  “Mental Health Informatics-Rising to the challenge”. The meeting will be co-chaired by BCS Health Chairman and former head of NHS Connecting for Health  Matthew Swindells and Royal College of Psychiatrists Registrar Lawrence Mynors-Wallis. The meeting will be attended by key stakeholders including Hugh Griffiths, National Clinical Director Mental Health, Charles Gutteridge, National Clinical Director for Informatics and Mark Davies, NHS IC Medical Director. Key issues to be discussed will include the implications of the information revolution for mental health and differing fortunes of mental health informatics  in the north and south.  Systems will be compared and contrasted and workshops will be held to give you an opportunity to inform the future mental health informatics strategy.
