Jane Hutton

Jane Hutton is Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Psychological Medicine at King’s College Hospital. I work across a range of specialties, using cognitive-behavioural therapy and mindfulness-based approaches. Throughout my career, I have maintained a commitment to respiratory medicine, through training and therapeutic work. I meet regularly with my Integrated Respiratory Team colleagues at King’s to discuss cases and broader issues related to psychological aspects of care. I lead on two components of the IMPARTS project, an initiative to integrate mental and physical healthcare: training in relevant psychology skills for physical healthcare teams, and development of self-help booklets, including one on breathlessness and anxiety for people with respiratory disease. I teach on respiratory medicine for trainee psychological therapists, and on CBT for the UCL MSc in Advanced Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy. I was lead author of the chapter on Long-term Medical Conditions, including respiratory disease, in the new textbook How to be a More Effective CBT Therapist.
