Care Co-Ordination: Interoperability Workshops

The QIPP and ITK team are organising workshops to elaborate the requirements for new ITK specifications to support care co-ordination - we need your input!

The QIPP Digital technology team and the ITK (Interoperability Toolkit) team are working to define interoperability specifications to ensure we meet your clinical needs in supporting co-ordinated care for patients with long term conditions and those approaching the end of life – we need your input.

In the workshops we will elaborate four specific areas including: the requirements for sending an EPaCCS Record and a generic Notification; the technical mechanism for retrieving a clinical document via a Document Request as well as some guidance around enabling Click-Through.

Whilst the clinical focus will be around care co-ordination some of the proposed specifications – e.g. Notification and Document Request – are applicable to a wide variety of use-cases. We would therefore encourage input from NHS Organisations and suppliers who have interest in care co-ordination or some of the broader use-cases around these specifications.

We are now in a position to start developing these specifications and we want your help to ensure that they meet your needs. We plan to hold a series of workshops (one each for the North, Midlands and South) to discuss our plans, to understand your requirements, and discuss how you might make use of this capability in your local processes. We are hoping to have a mix of clinical and technical attendees, as well as representatives from supplier organisations.

We are keen to get participants from a range of care settings, so please feel free to tell others you think would be interested in attending about the workshops.

We will follow the workshop with some additional online WebEx meetings, to allow us to present back the outputs from the workshops, and give you another chance to comment. This will also give you the opportunity to come back to us with any additional requirements or concerns you have identified back in your local teams as a result of the workshop discussions.

The workshops will be held on the following dates:

  • 24th September 1-4pm: Redditch
  • 27th September 1-4pm: Leeds
  • 4th October 1-4pm: London
  • 10th October 1-4pm: London

If you are interested in attending one of the workshops, can you please confirm your contact details, along with your preferred location using this form:
