South Integration Showcase

IBM is a globally integrated enterprise operating in more than 170 countries, with over 20,000 employees in the UK. A significant proportion of our annual $6n R&D investment is focused on healthcare, enabling us to apply innovative solutions to tackle real world problems that help make the world work better and to build a smarter planet.

With healthcare transformation in the UK being driven by many factors, such as an aging population and an increasing prevalence of chronic disease, higher demands are being placed on our healthcare systems at a time when public sector budgets are being reduced. To address this, IBM has a vision for Smarter Healthcare, that increases efficiency, productivity and outcomes to provide better integrated health and social care for all. Smarter Healthcare provides the ability to automatically capture accurate, real-time information, interconnected so that doctors, patients and other care professionals can all share information and collaborate seamlessly and efficiently, and intelligently by applying advanced analytics to improve research, diagnosis and treatment. Examples of our work with clients range from creating comprehensive, holistic views of patient data, to getting real-time visibility into how healthcare operations are running, to enabling integration of health and social care as envisaged by policies requiring greater cross-agency integration for improved outcomes.
