Article from New England Journal of Medicine Authors: Matthew P. Manary, M.S.E., William Boulding, Ph.D., Richard Staelin, Ph.D., and Seth W. Glickman, M.D., M.B.A.

Interesting points on how to make patient reported experience measures (PREMS) accurate reflectors of quality of care:

- patients need to provide feedback soon after care experience (within 30 days)

- Measures should be about a specific care experience

- Measures should be about point of contact and communication with staff rather than generalised queries about care
