Breathlessness IMPRESS Tips for commissioners

A guide to health care commissioners on how to commission services for people with the symptom of breathlessness, that affects up to 10% of the general adult population and up to 30% of the older population. It offers suggestions about how to achieve local consensus and how to use existing services better to achieve better value. This is being tested now by Lambeth and Southwark CCGs. It is part of the suite of resources for improving the assessment and treatment of the adult population bothered by long term breathlessness. They include a number of examples of approaches and services that exist, as well as some draft aims, objectives and criteria for breathlessness services that could be used for local discussion and negotiation.
