First HLPs in Bucks and Milton Keynes

I'm delighted to report that HLP level 1 Quality Marks have been awarded to two pharmacies in Milton Keynes and there are several pharmacies across Bucks and MK which are very close to achieving their Quality Marks.  The core project teams' excitement is only exceeded by the pharmacy teams' in both stores and we will be making a presentation to the teams next week to celebrate their achievements.

This achievement is founded on the strong collaborative working we have had with our commissioners and public health teams, and the support of LINks to raise the profile of HLP with PCTs before we started.  Thanks also to the Portsmouth team for showing us the way.  Our numbers may be small at the moment, but we feel we have built a robust and worthwhile HLP structure in our area - with a view to embedding HLP as standard practice, and sustainability in an uncertain future.

We are hoping that the news will help us encourage our pharmacy teams who may have lost some momentum and those who have been waiting to see what happens before working towards HLP for their pharmacies.
