IMPACT: International Multicentre Project Auditing COVID-19 in T&O We introduce this multi-faceted ’suite’ of collaborative research/audit projects which are outlined in the IMPACT Overview attached. IMPACT is hosted/supported by the Scottish Orthopaedic Research Trust into Trauma (SORT-IT - a research charity based in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh), the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit (SHFA), and the Scottish Government. At the core of IMPACT is the need to encourage and coordinate collaboration between hospitals, regions, and national audit programmes. We seek to provide a mechanism to share experience of our clinical situations, discuss the impact of COVID19 on hip fracture services and T&O services, to collaborate on urgent research audits, and to discuss strategies to mitigate disruption and to plan for rebuilding. We have established 3 initial projects under the IMPACT banner: - IMPACT Hip Fracture Audit - IMPACT Services Survey - IMPACT Virtual Summit The projects are active in every Scottish hospital, and we’re delighted to have gained support from clinicians and national representative bodies from the UK, Ireland, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, and Germany to date and this list is growing daily. We believe IMPACT is the nucleus of the international emergency research response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we would be thrilled to welcome your participation. Many thanks indeed!
