Launching the concept of experience led commissioning in the health sector

Message from Georgina Craig - our communications lead

I hope you are all well and I know you will all be busy!

I am delighted to send you a copy of this report, which launches the concept of experience led commissioning to the health care sector.

Report: Putting people at the centre of GP Commissioning ELC

Press release: 16 November 2010

As you know, I have been working for some time with the University of Oxford develop a new approach where people’s experience of care becomes the central focus of service commissioning, and we are now well on our way to realising this vision.

We are working with several high profile GP commissioning groups who are keen to help us to test and co design the process and the Department of Health – as well as patient groups and national representative bodies – are also interested.

I will keep you up to date with development over the coming months. In the meantime, I would welcome your feedback on the ELC concept.

It is very clear that people’s experience of care is going to be a critical quality issue for the NHS; and with ELC, we are right at the centre of these developments.

I look forward to speaking to you soon.

Kind regards

Georgina Craig
