Please have a look at the editorial and article in the April issue of Anaesthesia comparing awake fibreoptic intubation with awake nasal intubations using a videolaryngoscope
While we are happy to do awake fibreoptic intubations we are more reluctant than our colleagues in the US to do awake oral intubations with a laryngoscope. I think that the use of videoplaryngoscopes should make this step easier for us.
