Physiological Sciences Forum Event - December 2011

The East Midlands Early Adopters hosted a forum for physiological sciences on the 9th December. As a result of the day some of the physiological Healthcare Scientists (HCS) will start to look at training consortia across the East Midlands, some of this may be facilitated via the HCS networks that are already established. Lisa Wheatley agreed to get together interested parties to develop a group to move forward your agenda. If you are interested in participating in the group then could you email lisa.wheatley@derbyhospitals.nhs.uk in the first instance.

Objectives for the session:

  • Agree on an SHA approach to using the workforce tool, enabling meaningful comparison to support workforce planning
  • Establish the training capacity for Physiological Science across the SHA and perceived barriers to training
  • Discuss in detail the PTP programme and training delivery
  • Explore the role of scientists in the Physiological Sciences
  • Discuss opportunities to modernise
