Mobilising Leadership Two Day Residential Programme

Mobilising Leadership Two Day Residential Programme

Dear Colleague

Call to Action - Mobilising Leadership

5th and 6th July 2011

Venue: Scarman, Warwick University Campus,

The Thought Leadership team at the NHS Institute is blending core principles from social movements, community organising, service improvement and organisational development into a unique approach that is capturing hearts and minds, building capacity through commitment with practical skills from service improvement. This approach is labelled a "Call to Action" (C2A). The goal is to enable others to achieve common purpose through shared values and commitment and by doing this, create "contagious commitment" to deliver results in challenging times.

This Call to Action approach demonstrates how QIPP is framed as a recommitment and reconnection to the core mission of the NHS, to ensure that the potential of our staff and those we serve is realised and that we provide the service we want for people in our communities and that our staff are proud to work within it.

We are therefore delighted to be offering this opportunity to you. Collectively we can contribute to the scale of change and personal effectiveness necessary to realise the QIPP challenge of saving £20bn, and the „ask‟ of doing so much more within tight resources. We anticipate an excellent response to this invitation and are expecting a very strong mix of senior clinical and managerial leaders from the NHS to work together in July.

The fee for this residential programme is £80 per delegate and is free to third sector organisations. As places are limited we therefore ask that you let us know by return or at the latest 14 June, 2011 if you wish to attend. Attendance for both days is required.

In order to maximise the learning time we have together, participants who commit to this residential event, are expected to undertake some pre-work,(half day). This will enable you to maximise the learning from attending the training.

For your information following this two day overview training, this is also a pre- requisite for our Train the Trainer programme (TtT). We will be actively recruiting participants to become accredited NHS Institute Trainers. The dates for the TtT residential programme are;

26th 27th and 28th July 2011

Venue: Warwick University

If you think you may be interested in gaining a place on this Train the Trainer programme, please discuss with me, I very much hope that you will wish to attend this initial overview training and look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Please reply to secure your place on the programme e-mail Donna Lawless, our administrator on, donna.lawless@institute.nhs.uk
