NHS public health functions (Section 7A) and co-commissioning of primary medical services

NHS England has published guidance for teams co-commissioning public health with CCGs. It provides advice on the practical management of commissioning public health in a co-commissioning environment, where legal responsibility for Section 7A services remains with NHS England. The document is intended to support effective relationships between CCGs and integrated regional teams for public health commissioning. It also highlights the role of professional experts, including screening and immunisation leads, in providing advice to CCGs. Please contact samantha.walsh4@nhs.net for further information.
