The training is offered by lead artists from Dementia and Imagination, ensuring that skills and expertise are shared with others wishing to work in dementia care settings. The session will be guided by the learning from Dementia & Imagination: Research Informed Approaches to Visual Arts Interventions.
The training is part of The Imagination Cafe, a week long, pop-up installation at the Menier Gallery, London (14-19th May 2018). The Imagination Cafe is touring the UK, spreading the word about creative approaches to dementia care, and showcasing the artwork of people living with dementia. Art activities, Boots UK archive object handling, music and afternoon tea are provided, along with specialist advice from the Alzheimer's Society and Dementia UK.
