Pulse Article: Half those with treatment–resistant hypertension ‘are not on optimal therapy’

Once a practice team has trialled Flo and understood how the interaction with patients via mobile phone texting clicks with patients so they'll engage on a day to day basis in their clinical management, the potential to improve clinical outcomes for all sorts of long term conditions is mind boggling. The recent publication from the US showing that half of those with treatment-resistant hypertension are 'not on optimal therapy' relays just such an opportunity. Signing up such patients could be next step in helping them to understand the seriousness of poorly controlled BP, and co-operating in taking their medication regularly as their GP optimises their anti-hypertensive treatment.
