Vaccination target met for the first time

The proportion of eligible children receiving their first dose of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMR1) by their fifth birthday has met the World Health Organisation target of 95% for the first time in England.

Figures from NHS Digital show that the proportion of children receiving the MMR1 vaccine by age five has increased year on year since 2006/07. The target was just missed in 2015/16 when coverage reached 94.8%.
