Urgent shake up needed for children’s unscheduled care
Children make up more than a quarter of emergency department attendances in the UK – and in England alone there has been a 28% increase in admissions for children to hospital over the last ten years.
The Royal College of Paediatrics, backed by other professional bodies, has produced a new set of standards, which underline the need for greater investment in unscheduled care and for changes in service design.
