Twenty four hour retirement from NHS contract and CQC registration

Commissioners are asked to note the recent advice on 24 hour retirement as it relates to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration.

GPs who are in a partnership and plan to take 24 hour retirement from their contract do not need to inform the CQC, unless there is a change to the legal entity of the partnership. Queries can be directed to the CQC national customer support centre on 0300 616161 or to the designated regional inspector for the provider. More....
