Total reward in the NHS
The NHS Employers organisation has developed guidance to assist NHS organisations in moving towards a total reward approach.
Total reward is an approach to thinking about the attractions of working for the NHS in a holistic manner – taking into account not just the immediate financial package, but the long-term financial benefits and intangible benefits.
NHS organisations provide some of the most comprehensive and attractive employment packages available in the UK. Base pay is supported by a range of enhanced conditions of service payments, pension benefits, other nationally-agreed benefits plus, in many cases, a range of locally-managed benefits.
