Themis practice briefing 1
This briefing is aimed at independent domestic violence advisers (IDVAs) working within a hospital setting.
It has been created in response to emerging data from CAADA’s Themis project, which highlights some particular characteristics of the client group and areas to consider in relation to practice. The project explores whether support for domestic abuse victims can be provided at an earlier point in the abusive relationship by co-locating IDVA services in hospital settings (both A&E and maternity). It also examines whether co-located services can address the gaps in service provision for victims who are hidden from criminal justice agencies.
