The health effects of Sure Start

A report by the Institute for Fiscal Studies concludes that there is little evidence of health benefits on children who took part in the Sure Start programme, which started in 1999 by the then Labour government and reached its peak in the late 2000s before its funding was reduced.

Improved health was only one of several benefits envisaged by the programme’s founders, but is the focus of the latest IFS study.
