Technical guidance on delivery of NHS e-referrals service
NHS Digital has published guidance to help organisations deliver the NHS e-referrals service (e-RS) CQUIN requirements for 2017/18 (section 7).
The document will guide providers through the available data, and support them to make the necessary changes on their e-RS systems. The CQUIN supports referrers to electronically offer their patients the full range of available outpatient appointments by encouraging providers to make all their services and appointment slots available on e-RS. From October 2018 a new provision of the NHS standard contract will allow providers to reject referrals made other than through e-RS.
