Tackling the workload crisis in general practice

The Primary Care Foundation is repeating a survey first run a year ago about the bureaucratic burden in practices. It is also investigating potentially avoidable appointments after initial results showed 27% of GP consultations could be managed in other ways.

The survey allows practice managers to offer direct feedback about the administrative tasks that take up time and how they might be managed better.  This includes how practices are paid, contact with hospitals, and tasks take time and divert energy away from direct patient care.
