Survey highlights how people with diabetes view the NHS

This report outlines the results of a survey of over 15,000 people with diabetes. It found that 40 per cent of those surveyed believe that the NHS has "worsened" since the reforms.

It also found that 37 per cent were not given appropriate advice and information about diet and exercise at the time of diagnosis.

The report calls on the government to introduce a specialist diabetes organisation which would work with the clinical community to drive improvements in care. It stresses that CCGs should be encouraged to follow NICE commissioning guidance for diabetes education courses.
