Staff attitudes top issue for patients

The attitude of staff is the top complaint by NHS patients, with one in three of those who had a critical comment perceiving staff as rude or showing negative attitude during their care experience.

Insufficient “care and compassion” was shown to almost 30 per cent of patients, while “poor communication between service and patient” was a problem for one in four. The figures are part of a new report In Their Words: What Patients Think About Our NHS, published by independent online feedback service Patient Opinion to mark the relaunch of its website on 21 February.
