Special educational needs and disability reforms

Implementation of the special educational needs and disability (SEND) reforms is a statutory requirement of the Children and Families Act (2014) which requires CCGs and local authorities to significantly change the way in which children and young people with SEND receive support.

NHS England’s chief nursing officer has written to all CCGs outlining the statutory responsibilities and the guidance already available to support implementation of these reforms.
