Social prescribing fund to help deliver General Practice Forward View

The Department of Health has launched a new £5 million fund, supporting local health and care partnerships to develop social prescribing – one of the General Practice Forward View’s (GPFV) 10 high-impact actions.

The aim of the fund is to realise the GPFV vision to reduce health inequalities by building and sharing evidence around good practice in social prescribing, which enables GPs, nurses and other primary care professionals to refer people to local and non-clinical services including  volunteering, arts activities, gardening, cookery, healthy eating advice and a range of sports. A total of £300,000 is available this year. Find out how to apply before the deadline of 21 November 2017.
