Senior appointments made to NHS CB medical directorate

The NHS Commissioning Board (NHS CB) has made three appointments to the medical directorate.

Barry Cockcroft has been appointed chief dental officer, Keith Ridge chief pharmaceutical officer and James Palmer has been appointed medical director south of England specialised commissioning.

The appointment of Barry Cockcroft and Keith Ridge will see them move from similar positions in DH to continue as the heads of the dental and pharmacy professions in the NHS. As the clinical director for specialised services, James Palmer leaves a similar post at NHS Bristol while continuing his role as consultant neurosurgeon at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust.
