Scheme to improve patient safety is on track to save 6,000 lives

A year after the launch of Sign up to Safety, 260 NHS organisations have set out ambitious plans to save lives by reducing avoidable harm.

This figure far exceeds the campaign’s target to get 180 organisations to sign up in its first year. It means that Sign up to Safety is in a strong position to reach its aim of saving up to 6,000 lives over three years through the reduction of preventable harm such as medication errors, blood clots and bed sores.
