Project Wild Thing film launched

Children in the UK spend less than 5% of their time outdoors - less than ever before.

Levels of obesity and behavioural problems are at an all-time high.  For the first time, a generation of children run the risk of having a lower life expectancy than their parents.

The Sustainable Development Unit has been supporting a project to improve children's health by reconnecting kids with nature through the Wild Network.

The Wild Network’s first activity is a three year film–led campaign to raise awareness of the issue and build an engaged community. This will launch with the release of a feature-length documentary: Project Wild Thing. The documentary was premiered at Sheffield Docfest in June and will be released in cinemas, distributed online and offline in July to encourage mass community screenings throughout the summer.
