Practical support that goes beyond checklists

Practices are increasingly asking for practical support that goes beyond checklists and diagnostics and makes a genuine difference to their ability to plan for change and make it happen.

Each practice is different but common themes are workforce recruitment and retention, managing workload, lack of planning and budgeting skills, and rising patient expectations. PCC is supporting practices in a number of these areas with training to upskill practice managers and GP partners, capacity support for practices preparing for CQC inspection, customer service training for practice staff (focusing on the 10 high-impact actions), facilitating discussions about how to manage workload – and moving from these to action plans. We are also providing support around capacity and demand, focusing on manageability of the present situation as well as on the need to meet rising demand for access and including reviews of nursing team capacity and other workforce mix issues that could provide short-term relief and point to longer term solutions. If your practice has access to “resilience” or other funding, please contact us at enquiries@pcc-cic.org.uk with “practical support” in the support line for more information about how we can help.
